Freshmen Religion Expectations

Mr. Abegg

Please:

1.                  Be in the classroom before the bell rings.  Sit down in your assigned desk before the bell.  Treat your classmates and their possessions with respect.

2.                  Bring your textbook, Bible, assignment book and computer to class everyday the class meets.  Put your name on the inside cover of each book!

3.                  Remove everything, except your computer, from your desks.   Place books quietly on the side of the desk. Your computer should be in stand-by mode.  Once the bell has sounded stand for prayer.

4.                  Keep the classroom clean and neat.  Do not write on desks, walls or tile.

5.                  Complete all daily journal and homework assignments.  In this class, daily journal and homework carries the bulk of grading weight.  Failure to do journaling and homework will facilitate a failing grade.  Quizzes are considered homework—the quiz questions are given the day before the scheduled quiz.  If you do poorly on quizzes you did not do your homework well enough.  If you are absent for a quiz it cannot be made up.  It does not count against you.

6.                  Grade weighting: All written work (Journal, Essays & Quizzes) are worth 75 % of the grade.  Tests are weighted 25 %.

7.                  Late homework is penalized for each day late (my discretion).  Exceptions will be made for sickness and extra-ordinary situations.

8.                  All written work and essays are to be type written in the SAMPLE format (downloaded during the first week of class).  Essays are expected to be complete two days after being assigned.
