Dear Parents, Guardians, Sponsors,

Easter blessings and Graces to all as we settle for the term break. May the Risen Lord bestow his peace on your families and communities. It's amazing how the term has ended so fast. The term has been short and a busy one both to the staff and the students.

On February 2"" our new forms arrived in St. Paul's accompanied by their parents. It was a great time to have them with us. They have quite adjusted and are doing well both in academics and extra curricular activities. All the parishes in the Diocese are represented. Our teachers and students worked tirelessly to initiate them into St. Paul's program.

The staff remains pretty much the same as last year with only one change. Mr. Patrick Kainga is our newest member of staff and is teaching Agriculture Forms one to Four and Chemistry Form Two. Mr Kainga replaced a long time serving member of staff Mr. Peter Gatehi who went for furthers studies. Welcome to Mr. Kainga and thanks to Mr. Gatehi for his selfless service in St. Paul's

The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) showed St. Paul's again having improved a lot coming in with a Mean Grade of 8.25, an increment of 0.75. This was the best mean grade in the history of the school. This was a landmark. We had `Three A- (Minuses), Four B+ (Pluses), six B (Plains), Fourteen Ft- (Minuses), Four C+ (Pluses), and Five C (Plain). We were ranked number 79 Nationally, Number 19 in the private category and number 1 in Marsabit District. A few goats lost their heads as we celebrated the Grand Score. Sincere Congratulations to both the staff and last year's candidates for their commitment and sacrifices made. We are proud of you. The current Form Fours have promised to work even harder and achieve a better grade. A BIG Thank you to all those who came to celebrate with us for your spirit of collaboration and prayers. May God bless you all.

A delegation of teachers from our sister school Rongai Agricultural and Technical School paid us a visit. The delegation was led by the Principal Br. Francis Njoroge - a one time Deputy Principal of St. Paul's. They toured Marsabit and its environs and were very pleased with the visit. Come again guests!

The term also saw a very vigorous Sports Program carried out in the evenings. The intramurals saw Saints thrashing out Marsabit Boys in Basket Ball in the District Championships. This made the Saints to earn a ticket to the Provincial Championships in Embu where they did their best. The Form ones have posed a BIG threat in sports as they have drawn a number of matches with the ‘Seniors' and even won some. This is a good sign that we will not only excel in academics but also in sports Thanks to Mr. David Maina who has injected a new spirit in sports.

The Form Fours and Twos participated in the leadership Course. At the end of the Course, we had a vert special Mass which was presided over by Fr.  Koffi, our Pastoral Coordinator. The Form Fours were each issued with a certificate as they completed the four phases of leadership Course. Be good leaders and followers. Thanks to the Pastoral coordinator Fr. John Koffi, Sisters Ornela and Beta, Ms Akinyi, Hilary (Education Secretary/Peace and Justice coordinator) and Jirm Galgallo (Development Coordinator) for shaping the minds and the hearts of our students.  May the Lord reward you abundantly!

Fee collection is becoming a problem. It is up to the parents to ensure that their sons come back to school with the fees and balances to avoid an extra cost of travel. Most of us are aware of the generous contributions made by the Catholic Diocese of Marsabit, De La Salle Christian Brothers, different Parish Councils, Priests of the Parishes and numerous NGOs. So it is up to the parents also to give their fair share thus lessening the burden. Parents should ensure that their sons report to school on time. Some students are reporting to school one week or two weeks late. This lateness affects our academic programs, which calls for continuity and consistency. Again. I ask for our collaboration on this matter.

The school opens on 3r`' May 2005. Students are expected to he ore Campus b) 5.00 PM. Classes resume on Wednesday September 5th, 2005.

Sincerely Yours,

Br. Michael Kiniotho. FSC. Principal. St. Paul's Sec. School, Marsabit
