Book of Daily Prayer (71-75)

 71. BE PATIENT

Be patient with every one,

But above all with yourself. I mean, do not be disturbed because of your imperfections, and always rise up bravely from a fall.

72. LET US SEE, YAHWEH

Yahweh, open our eyes to see the real meaning behind all your gifts to us; in the beauty of creating, in the human relationships we enjoy, in the basic gifts of food and shelter and home life. Make us aware of those who cannot see your hand in the events of heir lives, and show us how to be your hand in the world, touching and healing our Brothers and Sisters.

73. THANK YOU, GOD, FOR LITTLE THINGS

Thank you, God for little things that

often come our way,

The things we take for granted but

don't mention when we pray,

The unexpected courtesy, the thoughtful kindly deed,

A hand reached out to help us in the

time of sudden need

Oh, make us more aware, dear God, of  little daily graces

That come to us with "sweet surprise" from never dreamed of places.

74. FAITH AND DOUBT

Doubt sees the obstacles,

Faith sees the way;

Doubt sees the blackest night,

Faith sees the day;

Doubt dreads to take a step,

Faith soars on high;

Doubt questions, "Who believes?"

  Faith answers, "I."

75. COME TO OUR HOME

God, come into our home and strengthen us in our determination to be a more united family. Help us to put confusion and distractions out of our midst, and to follow through on the decision we make to share time this week as a family. We pray this in Jesus' name.
